PURPOSE of the FORUM
Economic and Social Research Institute is planning to hold the following forum, which is open to the public, making use of the output of the International Collaboration Projects. This forum aims to discuss the recent developments of Japanese labor markets, especially their diversification under globalization, and necessary policy measures to cope with them including structural reforms.

Issues to be discussed

On the Japanese labor markets
Diversification in the younger generations
Disparities between regular and non-regular workers
Rational disparities and irrational ones
Policies to remove irrational disparities
Relationship between the personnel management strategies and the intra-firm disparities
Effects of globalization on the incomes of unskilled workers in developed economies
